Fuji Film Expands Digital Photos Dynamic Range with it’s FinePix S5 Pro DSLR – PMA Las Vegas 2007

With the introduction of the first digital cameras two problems were quickly evident, the first was noise and artifacts in low light levels, and the second was the limited dynamic range. In order to tackle the problem of dynamic range Fuji took a new approach with their new FinePix S5 Pro DSLR, utilizing a sensor within a sensor to increase the dynamic range. In this interview with Fuji Film’s Darin Pepple, we learn how they did this. This camera was designed specifically for professional use centered around studio use, weddings, school portrait photography, and has innovative features to assist in those workflows.
