Tablet Maker Wacom Brings a New Brand to Market With Bamboo – Siggraph 2007

This year, Wacom, creators of the well-known Intuos line of professional tablets and Cintiq tablet displays, introduced their new Bamboo line designed for consumers. Many folks don’t realize that the vast majority of tools in applications like Photoshop or Corel Painter are “tablet aware” and that the moment you plug in a tablet, the tools respond the pressure, angle, and even the eraser on the pen! In this interview with John Bistolas of Wacom Technology, we discuss the state-of-the-art in tablet technology. For years serious digital artists, animators, photographers, and illustrators have depended upon Wacom tablets as their tool of choice. If you have ever wondered why they gave up a mouse for a tablet, this interview is for you! Recorded at the Siggraph/ACM Conference in San Diego, California, in August 2007 by Harris Fogel.
