Boynq Studio’s Stylish New iCube II Audio System

One of the most stylish entries into the iPod sphere comes from Boynq Studio. The iCube II is a small cube, available in black or pink. It’s got some great curves, nice attention to detail, and surprisingly good sound. The bass won’t shake the walls, but will do the trick in a small room. It has the expected iPod dock, and an external audio input, so it can be used with an iPod or any other audio source. What sets it apart from others is the sense of design.

With a minimalist aesthetic, it’s neither over- or under-designed, and has just the necessary controls. What could use some design simplification is the Boynq website, and the decision to label the pink ones “Pour Femme”, and the men’s line of black ones “Pour Homme” a distinction that is unnecessary. Those misguided marketing decisions aside, we are happy to see such a fully developed entry into the iPod universe. This is only one of an adventurous line of audio and computer accessories, all with careful design considerations.
