Blue Raven Maestro 1070 iPod Audio System

While Blue Raven is a new name to the Mac community, it has been around for 23 years yet only recently entered the retail space. The first product of theirs that we looked at was a competent iPod battery replacement kit, but this review is concerned with their iPod audio system, the Blue Raven Maestro 1070.

Available in black or white, it’s a solidly built unit rated at 70 watts, with a full function remote control. It has the expected external audio input, but also has a video output as well, so you can listen to audio on the system, but watch the video on a nearby video display. The audio quality is good, however, we felt it was a bit bass-heavy in relation to the high-end, so you might need to consider placement to obviate the bass a tad. We think that this unit won’t satisfy the desires of someone looking for an entirely precise soundstage, but we think that the Maestro 1070 is a solid choice to pump up that dorm or studio apartment with room-filling sound.
