Ever since the publication of Martin Parr’s photographs of life in the British Isles in the early 1980’s, Parr’s keen observations of modern life have placed his photographs in the collections of museums, galleries, and publications, and influenced a new generation of color photographers. He has been very visible with recent exhibitions of his work at the Photokina Conference in Germany, and at the PhotoPlus Expo in New York, both of which were printed on the newest generation of HP “Z Series” printers. His recent books include Mexico for Aperture and The Photobook: A History - Volume 2 for Phaidon have garned critical praise, and in this interview with Martin Parr, we discuss these topics and more. Recorded at the PhotoPlus Expo Conference in New York City, in November 2006 by Harris Fogel. Posted 12/24/2006 (15:40)
