Yes, I know I'm taking liberties with Clement C. Moore's infamous holiday poem, but at this time of year, there are enough festive widgets to warm the cold winter's night for any Mac OS X user. (In case you haven't upgraded yet, or have an older system, Widgets are entertaining and often useful instant gratification ornaments that you can download and then store inside the dashboard icon on your desktop for handy reference.) In addition to the old standards like calculator, clock, and weather, the apple.com website has a sleighload of widgets to enhance your holiday computer enjoyment!

A Tale of Two Pups, the Wolverine ESP 5000 & MVP 9000 - Back Up Your Photos and More On the Road

The problem with digital photography and digital audio is finding a place for all that new-found digital data. In the beginning, there wasn't much of a choice. If you ran out of memory cards, you were stuck. Enter Woverine Data. Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to take a look at the Wolverine MVP 9000 portable storage unit. Then, last month, Wolverine released the Wolverine ESP 5000. When I first started researching the Wolverines, there was a wonderful post on Amazon.com that referred to the MVP as a "Swiss Army Knife" of sorts, which mirrored my thoughts exactly after working with it on an extended basis. If you ever need to backup your digital photos on the road, backup your data, or relax with a video, Wolverine has couple of very nice pups indeed!

SpongeBob Fans Can Catch The Greatest Hits Under The Sea on Bikini Bottom’s Very Own Radio Station

Now you don't have to live in a pineapple under the sea to tune into to WH2O, the radio station that sends out its signal to SpongeBob and all the other inhabitants of Bikini Bottom. "SpongeBob SquarePants: The Best Day Ever" is a whimsical album made by real musicians (including Andy Paley, Tom Kenny, Brian Wilson, and the last living Ramone) who sound like they are the ones having the best day ever! Review – RealViz Stitcher Unlimited 5.5 Gets Fishy

Panoramic photography has been around as long as photography itself, but its existence in the digital realm has been a rocky one. When Apple first introduced Quicktime VR back in the late 1990's, the best panoramas that could be produced amounted to nothing more than grainy thumbnail-sized images. Prior to Stitcher Unlimited 5.5, photographers could only use regular wide-angle lenses with this application, and this meant that they had to shoot many, many more shots to cover the entire 360° scene. Review – WingNuts 2: Raina's Revenge from Freeverse

2001 was a year to remember. For example, the first Oscar for animated feature was awarded (to "Shrek"). But more importantly, it was the year Freeverse Software released its terrific game, WingNuts. I have spent a lot of time being frustrated by Baron von Schtopwatch's robot planes, and I've hammered on my Mac's keyboard so frantically, I'm afraid it will stop working. So you can see why I am really excited about the recent release of WingNuts 2: Raina's Revenge.
